Countdown countdown!!!
3 weeks until my engagement day! wheeeeeeee!!!
OK ok…i know some people might be thinking “oh for god’s sake you’re only getting engaged..not even married yet” ehhehehe…can’t help it. I’m so excited!
One of my good friends says that I don’t update anything about my engagement on my blog, got her all disappointed when she wants to know what’s happening..lol…so I’ll just pour out my excitement into this entry then π
It’s not going to be super huge and gala or anything, just a smallish family thingy with a few close friends. Unfortunately one of my best friends can’t make it as she’s currently studying in Australia. So I’m trying my best to figure out how to hook up a webcam to enable her to view the on-goings of my engagement. Hopefully I’ll manage to do that so she won’t miss a thing! Otherwise, I’ll resort to posting up loads and loads of pictures..heheheh..
Last week I settled quite a number of stuff with regards to the engagement. Went out to KL in search of his hantaran stuff and the fussy boyfy finally settled his heart on a handsome belt set. Other stuff would be the usual sweets/food items.
Oh! And I also went for the first fitting of my engagement dress. Ok, not a dress, kebaya. Appointment with designer/tailor (DN) was at 3pm. While having lunch, I decided to call her just to reconfirm our meet. Just as I suspected, she was caught up with something, therefore pushed it to 4pm. No problem there. So I went at 4pm. When I got there, a lady was already being attended to, so I had to wait…and wait..and wait..for an hour and a half! I was about to fall asleep on the waiting sofa. FINALLY, the lady left, and DN could turn her attention to me, good-o!! She went in her needlework area, and brought out my kebaya…it was beeaauutiifuullll *swoon*
I tried it on and my sister gave this unsure smile. The cloth was really soft so it fell and swirled around me really nicely..I love chiffon!! π But obviously there were adjustments to be made. DN pinned the adjustments here and there and said that I can come back this week for the final fitting. Yaaayyy!!
She told this really funny story about how when she was cutting the cloth, she double checked the measurements and was doubting herself whether she took my measurements correctly. SO SMALL…was what she was thinking..hahahahha
aih…what to do…i’m a very thin person, but as long as I’m not purposely starving myself to death or anything, who cares right? LOL
Mom kept herself busy for the past several weeks by putting together favours for the ladies who will be present on that day. She, and her best friend, went all out with glue and laces! LOL! But the outcome was great..I’m just dying to post up pictures of their masterpieces here but then it will ruin the surprise π We’ll wait till after the engagement, shall we?
My sister has her brand new kebaya all ready..I believe my other girl-cousins are waiting to pick up theirs from the tailor as well. They’ve all got the same coloured cloth for “kain”..be it baju kurung or kebaya. The boys are turning it into their “kain sampin”. Aren’t they the sweetest?
My Dad is currently extremely busy. Apart from work, he’s also doing up a close friend’s son’s wedding “pelamin”, what is it called in english again…err…wedding dais I think. Buuutt…doesn’t mean he has no time for moi! π He’s going around finding ways to deco up the house, it’s his lil project with mom. Heheh…
Soooo….all things are well and good underway… will update more on other engagement stuff when I can…wheeeeee
Oh! What a magical time! I got married last year August… so I’m still a newly wed. I can remember the day we got engaged so well! Of course, it was very different. We didn’t have a party, and i sadly didn’t get a nice dress! We were on the beach here in south africa. watching the sun set, drinking Amarula. It was magical! >Please post pic’s of the event. I would love to see what you look like in your kebaya (actually i would love to see what a kebaya looks like!)>>Winks, just enjoy every moment!>Love your blog, thanks for visit 2 mine. Will definitely be back 4 more!
