Yesterday was Adilah and Hasril wedding reception (one of many, heheheh) and I was honoured to be their emcee for the night.
Throughout the merenjis session, I shared with the guests anecdotes of how Adilah and Hasril met.
I thought I’d share their cute little story here as well 🙂

Let me tell you about Adilah and Hasril’s story. The first time they met was at Empire Shopping Gallery. Adilah was taking a little stroll at the mall when she noticed Hasril standing and staring at her. Strangers then, Adilah found it a little bit creepy. They bumped into each other again, and Hasril just couldn’t stop himself from staring at this gorgeous young lady, and Adilah, well.. in her own words “buat bodoh je”. (Translation – non chalant).
Hasril couldn’t get Adilah off his mind. He told his best friend that he’s found someone he really likes but has completely no idea who she is. His best friend, decided to go on a “girlfriend” hunt for Hasril ( since he wouldn’t stop talking about the mysterious girl for three days straight) and started to go through the best match making website there is today: FACEBOOK.
After browsing through the many single girls in the list, Hasril’s best friend came to him and said “I think you’ll like this girl, she’s my friend’s, friend” and showed him the picture. Angels sang and rainbows appeared, Hasril’s heart burst with joy as he exclaimed “That’s the girl I’ve been telling you about!”
Hasril went on a mission. He was intent to have Adilah as his wife. First though, he had to win Adilah’s heart. Unfortunately, that didn’t come easily, because Adilah didn’t seem to notice! After months of wooing, Adilah finally saw Hasril in a different light, during… a shopping trip. So yes Hasril, you know the trick to win with Adilah is by ending your sentence with “OK, just buy it dear”.
So the story continues… They dated for four months and for the first time in her life, Adilah felt like she has found THE ONE. Everything seemed to fall into place and when Hasril asked if she would like to spend the rest of her life with him, she just couldn’t say no.
But the challenge was not over yet. Hasril had to face ENCIK KHAIRUDIN RAHIM. The main man! Adilah was extremely nervous when bringing Hasril to meet her father for the first time because “Bapak tu macam garang ngan eksyen sikit”. Translation… he’s quite fierce and doesn’t suffer fools gladly. But as they met, ate dinner and talked, Khairudin warmed up to Hasril and didn’t show the slightest bit of his “garang and eksyen” side. In fact, he soon went ahead to book this very hall!
And the rest, as they say, is history. Here they are today, husband and wife. Hasril, a charming young associate director and partner at a digital communications and design agency, well liked and loved by all who know him and Adilah, the stylish fashionista heading her very own boutique, the darling of everyone’s hearts. With the blessings of their parents, friends and family, may Adilah and Hasril be blessed with good life, great health and trains of beautiful children to come.
