Hello Doodlers!!
Fuh, I’ve been missing for four days! Sorry for the lack of posts. I’ve been rather busy at work (and at home) so did not have much time to sit and scribble down my daily happenings.
Yesterday was another kitchen adventure day for me 😀
My cousins and aunts came over for raya lunch (raya sebulan wey! hehehehe) and so my mother decided to make spaghetti (apart from the ketupat, rendang, etc). I was requested to make my chocolate cake (the only cake I know, hahaha) and then I decided to make olive-cheese bread to compliment my mother’s spaghetti.
No, I did not fuss about in the kitchen dressed like the picture above. Ape gila ke nak masuk dapur pakai little daisy dress and high heels complete with pearls and other accessories. Ade jugak my mom ingat I buang tebiat. I just went around with my Zara tee and MNG jeans. HAHAHAHAHAHAH. Sunggoh mengada.
Unfortunately, in the midst of the kelam-kabutness in getting the food ready in time for lunch, I did not manage to take any pictures of the “process-membuat” of my latest kitchen experiment. Aiseyy.. takleh nak share ngan korang.
Basically, olive-cheese bread is french loaf (cut in half horizontally) fully laden with black and green olives and cheeeeeeeeeeeesee 😀 Fans of cheese and olives would love this, otherwise, it’s a bit of a turn off. Mom hates both olives and cheese so she didn’t want to touch it with a ten-foot pole. My dad on the other hand, looooooved it! He had it for lunch, tea and even for breakfast this morning! HHahhahaha! The husband? Biased lah, kalau dia tak suka pun dia kata MMMmmMMm sedaaaAAaappp!! LOL!! You know I love you Tuan Majistret. One of my cousins took a liking towards the bread too, eating about 3 big slices of it, his diet totally gone down the drain that day.
Although it was rather good (based on people’s feedback) I think maybe next time I could do better. I used too many black olives so the taste turned out to be a bit too tangy. I think next time I’m going to cut down on the olives, throw in some chopped capsicum and sausage bits and hey voila! I’ll get myself mini pizzas! LOL!!
Oh, and I never realized how tricky it was to chop olives. The little fellas kept rolling all over the chopping board and some even went overboard, falling over the kitchen counter. Dah rugi. Haih.
look at the olives in their little oval glory
If I get the mixture right the next time around, I’ll definitely share it with you Doodlers. It’s something you’d love to have to makan during a lepak-tengok-dvd-cetak-rompak-beramai-ramai session 😀
yes yes.. that looked yummehh.. share the recipe next time okeh!? i’m into baking too.. hihihi.. 😉
wahh…nampak sedap. I love cheeseee too..but olive? hehe terasa pelik sikit rasanya…good work 😉
