On the third day, we packed our bags and headed off to Lancaster for my sister’s graduation ceremony that was to take place the following day. We planned a little detour and stopped by Brockhole, the Lake District Visitor Centre, part of the Lake District National Park. Once again, the GPS was a life saver, we got to Brockhole easily and just in time for an early lunch too!
If any of you are ever making a trip to the UK, you really must stop by the Lake District. It is just BEAUTIFUL. I can’t find enough words to describe it. The crisp clean air, the scenery, the lake, I fell in love with just EVERYTHING about it!
We had lunch at the Visitor Centre cafe. They had a minor selection for vegetarians but the portion was really huge so no complaints there. The view from the cafe was spectacular as well!
I was munching away as fast as I could on my cheese stuffed baked potato (that was what I had if I remember correctly) so that I could get out there and TAKE PHOTOS!! Oh yeah it was absolute cam-whoring opportunity just waiting to happen *grin*
Chempedak extremely happy she gets to run around with no restrictions
She was still for a split second to pose for the camera
Kisses from Apam Balik, Chempedak and Twiggy
Bollywood moment, intai-intai belakang pokok
Having fun in the sun!
Check out the huge lake behind us!
A curious stack of stones and a flying Twiggy π
Then after we got tired of walking around and taking pictures, we spent time at their gift shop. You know how tourist centres have those cheesy boring souvenirs on sale? Well, their souvenir shop was definitely filled to the brim with amazingly cute and quirky items!! I’m such a sucker for cute stuff!! I felt like I wanted to buy EVERYTHING in the shop. Had to smack myself several times to stop from impulse buying, hahahahaha!
I love their gift shop so much!!
Check out these uber-cute cushions!
Mommy? Is this Timmy?
In the end I got a fridge magnet for the boss, an owl-shaped lip gloss for myself, and for the Chempedak, hooting toy owl whose eyes light up every time a button is pressed.
It was getting late by the time we managed to pry ourselves (or rather, pry me) away from the shop. So we all piled back into our rented 7-seater and continued our journey to Lancaster π
One for the album π
