Baby hammies!!!!

Helloooo there Doodlers!!!

How is everyone doing?? Gosh I’ve missed all of you! Anyhuuu, sorry for going AWOL on you, but it’s with good reasons which I will explain in a later post.

Anyway, guess what?? Earlier this week, Roxy gave birth to SEVEN adoroable pink and furless baby hammies!!! Yes, you read it right, SEVEN!!!! It’s amazing how she had all those babies inside her.

One morning, the husband told me that Roxy was acting weird, shoving her face around her bedding. So I told him that we’d better move her to another cage as it sounds like she’s gonna be having her babies (we knew she was pregnant, she was SO ROUND!). So we set up a smaller cage for her and transferred her over, leaving Pitong all alone in his big cage. No choice or Roxy might end up eating her babies if she feels threatened by his presence (or he might eat them).

Anyway, that afternoon, as the husband was watching Roxy have a little spin on her wheel in her cage, out popped a little pink baby hammy!! (which the husband thought was a super big poopy at first, but then the pink poopy moved, LOL).

He was so excited, he stood watch for the next few hours and by the end of the day, seven baby hammies are delivered safe and sound by super hammy-mommy Roxy.

The hamsters are placed outside on the balcony now, no more in our room as relatives made noise about the hamsters being a danger to me and Dot. At first they pestered the husband to give them away. He was highly devastated. In the end, we figured out a way to put them nearby, but far away from me, out on the balcony complete with shade DIYed by the husband 🙂 So he gets to keep his hammies.

I wanted to take a picture of hammy-mommy and her babies, but she seemed rather protective on them so I dare not disturb. Maybe next week when the little ones are slightly stronger.

So here’s to the seven baby hammies!! May they grow up to be cute and cuddly!!

p/s : Husband, Papa suggest that you name each of them after the 7 dwarfs! hahahaha!!! isn’t that cute?? 7 dwarf-hamsters!! LOL!!
