ALMOST 37 weeks pregnant with Dot. I guess I can already claim to be 37 weeks pregnant, I mean, what’s a few days difference right?
Yesterday night, I didn’t manage to get any sleep. I had to pee every half an hour. No kidding. Just as I was about to fall asleep, I had to go wee. Just as I got comfortable, I had to go again. This went on the whole night. At one point I even thought of just sleeping on the toilet bowl, tapi cam kalau tergolek jatuh jamban dah satu hal pulak kan, so I scrapped the idea. Please spare me the “when baby comes, you’ll hardly get any sleep either” comments. Dot’s still not here, so I’m trying to get as much sleep as I can!! Aaaarrrgghhh!!
So now I’m at work, feeling giddy, nauseous and weak. Aih. I’m going home at lunch time. Better than to be unproductive at work and risk puking (or passing out) at the office.
Oh here’s something which I want to share with all of you. I started to notice this little trick Dot does beginning last month. Sometimes when she moves, I’d hear popping noises coming from exactly where she moved. The first time I heard it, I thought it was my imagination. Then I heard it again, and I was so sure that it wasn’t my mind playing tricks on me. It sounds like someone popping their fingers or cracking their knuckles!
I still hear it every now and then. After doing some searching on the net, seems like I’m not the only one experiencing this so I’m just going to let it go. I’ll take it as Dot exploring her limited play center and doing whatever to keep herself entertained, heheheh.. It’s either that or she’s probably running out of space super fast and those are her cramped limbs trying to get a decent stretch.
Speaking of stretch, I have stretch marks!! HUWWAAAA!!! I was doing fine and in the clear up until this month, when I noticed white lines just above my belly button. Plus one red line. Boooo!! Boooo to stretch marks!! I just hope they’ll slowly fade away with time, sigh.
Another thing to note, Braxton Hicks contractions! I get them ALL THE TIME! Practice contractions they call them. Apparently it’s your body’s way of practicing for the real thing. They don’t hurt but they do get a little uncomfortable at times. Your whole belly turns rock hard, it kind of feels like your forehead! Heheheh… So what do I do when I get them Hicksies? I drink water, practice breathing exercises, or rub my belly to comfort Dot (although I’m not sure how Dot is affected by the Braxton Hicks contractions).
On the topic of breathing exercises, here’s my gynea’s way of practicing deep breathing. She says to take a deep breath through your nose, hold it in while saying Allah seven times in your head, then exhale through your mouth. I practice this on my own. I’ve given up doing it with the husband. Every time we try, he’d say Allah seven times out loud macam football commentator and I end up bursting with laughter.
Memang fail, hahahaha!
I think that’s all for now, will update more when I feel better.
Ciao Doodlers!
Bio-oil helps improve stretch marks.
Btw congratulations on the wonderful news!
