Europe Day 8 – Disneyland Park, Paris!!

December 28, 2011 by liyanaaznil 2 Comments

So off we went, from the city of Paris to Val d’Europe where Disneyland was!

It took several challenging train changes (huge luggage and rushing because we weren’t sure of our platforms) but in the end, we finally reached the town of Val d’Europe safely. We stayed at Hôtel l’Elysée, which was only 5 minutes walk from the train station.

Side note : There’s a bakery at the train station that sells halal sandwiches! Don’t forget to try the doughnuts (even in Paris city itself). Sedap giler ok, just the plain sugar sprinkled doughnut is enough to blow your mind, hahahah! Chemps was crazy about them!

That’s where we stayed 😀

Happy happy happy, one step closer to Disneyland!!

As we arrived rather early in the morning, we couldn’t check in just yet. So, we went to the hotel reception, gave our names and whatever else was needed, and left our bags in their luggage room. Then we got our Disneyland tickets from the hotel reception itself and off we went to Disneyland!!!

At the hotel reception, leaving our luggage and getting our tickets!

Chemps hanging out at the hotel’s kids’ corner with her grandma while we settle stuff at the reception desk

The awesome part about our hotel was that they provided free shuttle service to Disneyland.

Waiting for the Disneyland shuttle bus

It was only about a 10 minute bus ride and *poof* we were at Disneyland in no time!

We’re here!!! We made it!! Yeaaaaayyy!!

A very very VERY happy me 😀

The moment we went through the entrance gates, we were greeted by cheerful live music. I felt like I was in a dream. I have wanted to go to Disneyland for as long as I could remember. Heck I lived the first half of my life pretending to be a lost Disney princess (delusional, I know)!

They played some nice cheerful tunes to welcome people to the park 😀

Getting my Minnie Mouse ears, heeee!

Alisha finds her Daddy’s Mickey ears to be very amusing

Finally, I was home!!! Hahahahahha!!I was just soooooooo happy!!! EVERYTHING around me was so DISNEY!

The weather was perfect, not too sunny but it wasn’t raining either, it was just right for a day of exploring. We spent the entire first half of the day going around Fantasyland, checking out Sleeping Beauty’s castle, watching fun parades and eating Snow White’s poisoned apple!

Enjoying Snow White’s poisoned apple, heheheh

Then we left for the hotel again to check in to our rooms and have lunch. The good thing about Disneyland tickets is that you get to go in and out of the parks for the entire day. Awesome isn’t it?

After dumping our bags into our rooms, we went to the shopping mall located right across the hotel in search for something to eat. Alhamdulillah, there was a halal food joint called Nora, serving middle eastern delicacies like kebabs and falafels. They had these fried cheese snacks which were really yummy, but I forgot what they were called.

As we ate, there was a merry-go-round in front of the shop so we let Alisha have a go. The merry-go-round was one with different modes of transportation. We chose an airplane for her. She was really pleased she got to fly a plane! hahahah!

After lunch, my parents went back to the hotel (they were exhausted, hahaha..sian diorang) while me, the husband, Chempedak and my sister headed back to Disneyland!! We didn’t manage to go on that many rides the first day as the queues were quite horrendous. So instead we enjoyed most of our time watching more parades and later in the evening, sat down for the Fantillusion night parade and then watched in awe as the entire night sky was lit up by beautiful fireworks.

That night, as the three of us snuggled happily underneath our warm duvet, I dreamt again of being the Disney Princess I was meant to be, and how she finally found her way home… heheheh 😀

I remember when my brothers and I went to Disneyland, they had this BBQ Turkey Leg that smelled oh so good. We tried to resist it for the whole day, but at night, with the cold weather we COULDNT take it anymore and ended up eating it anyways eventhough it was not halal. HAHAHAHAHA. But as quoted by my brother, “it was worth it.” HAHAHAHAHA!

She was Chemps' little fluff of joy.

This will be the last of our rabbits. I don't think our hearts can take losing anymore bunnies. Chemps especially... Thank you Lulu, for being the sweetest most adorable little rabbit we could ask for. We will miss watching you sprint across the garden, eat your favourite treats out of our hand and you teasing and playing around with the chickens. "I love you, Lulu" - Alisha.
