Vivid dreams

I rarely have dreams, once in awhile perhaps, and they’re usually nothing significant. Most of the time, I don’t even remember the things that I dream about. Two nights ago, however, I had one of the weirdest dreams ever and I remember almost every detail of it until today. I feel that perhaps I should share…

I was with one of my close friends, Adilah, and we were at this huuuuuge green field with hills surrounding it. There was a religious ceremony going on and it involved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Don’t ask me how in this time and day I expect Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to be here, but in my dream, he was. I’m not even sure what ceremony it was but there was a massive crowd. He was dressed in a robe of some sort. I could not see his face, but I knew it was our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Adilah and I wanted to watch, but because there was just too many people we decided to go a little further, climb up a hill and watch from afar. As we were walking up a nearby hill, a HUGE flock of birds flew by in the sky. Really huge flock, there must’ve been about thousands of birds covering the sky.

At first, they were flying at random and then suddenly they flew into a formation and spelled out in Arabic script, Muhammad (Mim Ha Mim Dal). The two of us stopped walking and just stared at the birds open-mouthed. Then somehow, the ceremony was over and the flock of birds (now no longer in formation) continued flying around that area in a flock.

Suddenly, the birds grouped together and then all of them dispersed flying in different directions. As they flew away, they revealed an aircraft (not unlike an aeroplane).

The aircraft was flying out of control. Just before it crashed, the aircraft flew really low that were able to see the panic-stricken faces of the pilot and stewardess that was next to him. I don’t quite remember how the pilot looked like but the stewardess looked a lot like the Duchess of Cornwall (complete with the flicked ash-blonde hair). Not long after that it plunged to the ground nearby where we were standing and crashed.

And that was that.

I have vague of memory of what happened next. I must’ve woken up.

The husband told me that he learned that if you dream of the Prophet, then it is him as Shaytaan cannot appear in his image.
Abu Hurairah (radhiallahu anhu) said that the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam – SAWS) said: ‘Name yourselves with my name, but do not call yourselves with my nickname; and whoever sees me in his dream, he has [truly] seen me, for Shaytaan (Satan) never appears in my image. And he who purposefully speaks a lie against me, will have his seat in the Fire.’ (Al-Bukhari)
I didn’t see the Prophet’s face, but I was aware of his presence and having the birds spell out his name in Arabic was another wow factor. I have absolutely no idea what the dream meant (especially the aircraft crashing part), but I thank Allah for blessing me with such a dream.
SubhanAllah.

Taking the Chill Pill

How ya’ doin’ my dear Doodlers? I, unfortunately, have been hit hard by the flu bug that’s currently flying around town. Actually, I’ve been sick since two weeks ago but the little Chempedak was ill too (I caught the bug from her) and there was just so much going on at work that I pretty much psyched myself into thinking that I wasn’t really that sick.

On Monday, I guess my body had pretty much had it and threatened to launch into hibernation mode on its own. My colleague drove me to the nearest panel clinic, and I finally consulted a doctor to help fix my declining health.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I have been trying to nurse myself back to health. I took my daily doses of pure honey, drank lots of plain water and stayed away from all the greasy food and icy drinks. Obviously that didn’t help. I was getting fevers on and off, nose clogged up so much that my head felt like it was about to fall off every time I leaned over, and coughing so hard that my chest hurts each time I let out a bark. Oh, and not to mention, phlegm that would make you think I had the Hulk for breakfast (eww, I know).

So I met up with this very nice doctor who checked my vitals and asked me some general questions and jotted down important notes on her little pad. Then she told me that she was taking me off work for the next two days.

“You’re giving me MC?”

“Yes”

“But I have so much work to do”

“Please stop infecting everyone”

That did the trick. It also reminded me that I should not be selfish. Taking medical leave is not just for me to recover, it is also to keep my germs away from the healthy people at work. Although unfortunately I think I have infected the team already *sorry guys*

For two whole days all I did was send baby to school, eat breakfast, eat meds, sleep, eat lunch, eat meds, sleep, pick up baby from school, eat dinner, eat meds, sleep. The husband took over with baby duties during the evening. I’m so lucky to have such a hands-on husband. I love you sayang!!!

Alhamdulillah, two days of much needed rest and medication has restored me back to health. Well, I’ve not completely recovered but at least I feel loads better!! Thanks to the overdose of sleep and clockwork rounds of medication (Prospan, Zyrtec, Zinnat and the good ol’ Panadol Actifast) and several sinus steaming sessions.

Cover your head over a pot of steaming hot water, it definitely helps unclog your sinuses!
The husband woke up sneezing away this morning, so I made sure he took his supply of Zyrtec and Panadol along with him.

Any of you Doodlers affected by the flu bug? I hope not, but if you are, get well soon!!
