Chempedak, Pomelo and Jambu :D

Time flies by super-fast doesn’t it? Feels like it was only yesterday that I gave birth to my first child and now I have kidS! That’s plural!

Chempedak turned four a few weeks ago. She’s just an amazingly happy child, always cheerful and constantly with a smile on her face. Sometimes I think she walks around with rainbows and unicorns floating around her.

How is she adapting with a baby Pomelo in the family, you might wonder? Masha Allah, she has taken on the big sister role amazingly well. She LOVES her baby brother to bits and is just so proud of him even if he does nothing but sits there drooling.

“My baby,” she’d tell people in the lift who are looking or cooing at him.

sharing a story“Ihsan, this is a whale,” says Chemps as she reads to him a book.
Yes, he’s wearing pink. That’s how we roll 😛

She used to sing a tune from her favourite cartoon series My Little Pony but she tweaked it so that it goes “My baby brother, best friends forever”. Sweetest big sister ever!

Pomelo, will be 10 months next week and just as how his sister is doting on him, he loves her just as much. It used to be that Chemps was the only one who could make him burst out giggling with laughter (but he has since developed a better sense of humour, heheh). His sister would be doing the silliest of things (like pretending to eat his chubby hands) and that’s enough to make him laugh out loud.

He’s super active, crawling and climbing everywhere. Sometimes I run out of steam just trying to keep up with him. He can pull himself up to a stand and walk sideways if supported but can’t do it on his own yet. Most recently, the hubs taught him how to clap his hands and Pomelo is just so amused by his new set of skills. Two days ago, he suddenly woke up at 3am, sat on the bed, and started grinning and clapping his hands. If I wasn’t so sleepy I would’ve been spooked out of my wits.

Poms :)My little Pomelo *looove*

Oh! And yesterday he waved “bye-bye” for the first time! Hahahah… yeah.. I know… it’s a mom thing. Little thrills of life *grin*

Jambu (haahahaha he’s gonna kill me!) is extremely busy too nowadays. He’s juggling life as a husband, a daddy, an employee and a student all at one go. I think things can get pretty overwhelming for him too but amazingly, he manages to be there to help out whenever he can and comfort this little wifey of his whenever I feel out of sorts. Much love my darling!!

As for me, well, there’s just wayyy too much that I’ve been doing, it’s definitely gonna take up more than a quarter of this post to update you on my going-ons! Haha! So, till I scribble my thoughts again, toodles!

Family :)

Happy birthday to the love of my life

Yesterday was my other half’s birthday 🙂 I initially had a full day planned for his birthday which included Ice Age 4, Spiderman in 3D, Las Carretas and ice cream. In the excitement of my husband turning a year wiser, I totally forgot that there were other events already planned for the day. Aih.

Also, I wanted to surprise him with a birthday cake, but I sent my car for service and had no ride during lunchtime, so I didn’t manage to get cake. So none of which I wanted to do with my husband came to be. I was very disappointed. Birthdays mean a lot to me, and I always try my best to make my family’s birthdays as special as I can.

So since lunch, dinner and movies were scrapped off the list, I took him to a lovely breakfast instead. Once my sleepy heads woke up from their slumbers, we got ready and headed to Mukha Café. The ambience was great, food was pleasant and we had some great quality time together.

Happy birthday love, I hope you had a great birthday even though it didn’t go exactly as planned.

Love you lots,

Another wonderful weekend

Seems like I’m on a weekly post now, and it’s all about my weekends, heheheh… Oh well, weekends are what we all look forward to anyway.

So last Saturday and Sunday was another full fledged weekend. Early Saturday morning, we were at Masjid Negara, attending a relative’s solemnization ceremony. The tok kadi arrived late, like, an hour plus late adding more jitters to the soon to be husband and wife. Kesian kesian. The rest of the guests however kept busy by chit chatting and Chemps had fun exploring the mosque with her second cousin.

The tok kadi finally arrived and Alhamdulillah, the solemnization process was over quick and smooth. After witnessing the beautiful pledge of marriage, we had a little something to eat and headed off to the next occasion, which was my office colleague’s wedding in Shah Alam. We didn’t have our GPS so had to rely on the map provided in the card. Thank God we managed to find our way.

Entertaining herself in the car

“This is me!” she said

There was quite an impressive spread and the three of us had a good time filling our tummies 😀 After which, we went to say congratulations to the bride. We hung around a bit as I actually wanted to take a picture together but she was a little bit too occupied (the bride was EVERYWHERE! hahahaha) so we had to leave as there was another function to get to.

Didn’t get a pic with the bride, so I took my babies’ picture instead, heheheh

We got home with enough time to let Alisha have a nap, and us to freshen up. Then, it was off to a birthday party! Zaza and Hashley threw a lovely little bash for their princess Khaisah, and what a clever venue they chose too! It was held at the playground nearby their house, so all headaches to keep kids entertained was easily overcome.

After singing the birthday song, and many chitchats later, we went home all set to get ready for the next function! Craayyzeee right? Hahahahah! The moment we reached home, Alisha wanted to play with the bubbles she got in her party pack, so we let her have a few minutes of bubble-time.

Alisha busy blowing bubbles, Daddy busy tangkap nyamuk, hihihi

As we were chilling outside we bumped into Adam’s cousins next door. They just got back from their Europe trip so OF COURSE I had to go say hello! Alisha and her second cousin Kasheif ended up playing bubbles and catch. It was so cute to see them having such a great time.

Kasheif and Alisha

It was only about half an hour later that we went into the house and rushed to get ready for another wedding. So with the end of the night’s wedding, that concluded our hectic Saturday. Phew! I feel tired just thinking about it, hahaha!

Come Sunday, I was up bright and early, packing our bags for a day trip to Janda Baik! The husband had a YMP programme to attend and he wanted us to come along as there was a little river at the venue and he wanted to let Alisha have her first dip in a river 😀 So off we went!

For the first half of the day, we mingled with those at the programme. Chemps of course was lapping up the attention from everyone. I think she made more friends than I did that day. We also attended a Q&A session and a little talk by Sheikh Yahya. It was informative and light, just the way I like my religious programmes to be, hehehe… nothing too heavy. Then after the programme was over, came the part Chemps was looking forward to all day, MANDI SUNGAI!!

Initially the husband said to just let her dive in with her clothes on. Of course my proper Chempedak princess would have none of it. She insisted on putting on her swimsuit, “nak simming lah!” she said 😀

The water was cold as you would expect, but she loved every minute of the whole new experience.

So that, my dear Doodlers, was what we did last weekend 🙂
