A couple of weeks ago, I attended the Judicial & Legal Service Officers Association (JALSOA)annual dinner. Obviously, I have no relations to the event other than the fact that my husband is part of the judiciary service. He was emcee for the night and invited me to come along and see the whole she-bang.
At first, I was not able to go due to transportation issues. Fortunately, my friend wanted to go there as well for other matters and was sweet enough to give me a lift. In fact, he actually arrived lots earlier so that I could get to the dinner on time! (Thanks Shah!!)
I fussed about getting dressed according to the RETRO theme. I mean, it’s not every day that you wear something retro!! Then panicked a bit over which belt goes better with my dress, puffed on some make up and finally we were on our way!!
Apart from enjoying watching my husband emcee the event, it was a so-so event. The venue was quite a drab, the food quite disappointing (at one point the chicken, fish and meat tasted the same as the vegetables), and the performances, well, only a few were entertaining. But since I was just a guest, I made no fusses and just sat there enjoying whatever I could.
But the best part of it all was when I was announced Queen of the Night!! (a.k.a best dressed)
Wahahahahhaha!! Terkezut beruk dan terkedu tapi gumbira sebab tak penah menang award sebegitu rupa!
The whole hall went quiet because almost no one there knew who I was. The husband yang jadi emcee tu pun sama terkejut jugak so memang la kelakar yang amat!
Anyway, here’s picture of me, the teeny Queen of JALSOA night *giggle*
Jangan marah ye tuan-tuan dan puan-puan hakim dan lawyer sekalian, hahahahaha!
So here’s a picture of me in all my ‘retro’ness, holding the stuff I won, together with my friend, Ms Shuey. What did I win? Oh, a pretty candle holder and a Casio watch, pretty awesome ey?
Oh, btw, the cute orange clutch was the birthday present given by the husband 😀 sweet!
