Bills bills bills

I just reached home from work, and plopped myself down onto my bed when I realized that I had landed on a few envelopes addressed to me. Reached behind my back and pulled out the envelopes to see who they were from. Commerce Assurance Berhad. MNG.

Two days in a row now I’ve been getting love letters from various companies. No, unfortunately they’re not Hari Raya greeting cards. They’re bills. Yeappp…it’s that time of the month again. Bills, bills and more bills.

Back in the days when I was a carefree student, never did I imagine I would be facing this much hardship. Though some would say that I am far exaggerating, I beg to differ. It’s just one of those life challenges that some lucky few do not have to face.

Anyway, back to the subject of bills. Ahh yes, Commerce Assurance. I knew what it was even before I opened the envelope. It’s about my car insurance which is due to be paid in November. It doesn’t help that my car insurance reminder arrives together with MNG’s Winter collection catalogue. Pfftt.

Car insurances are a necessity, I can completely understand that, but what I simply cannot fathom is that I have to fork out about 1k of insurance for a car that’s giving me hypertension attacks whenever I drive it!!
Ok in case my car is reading this, no my sweet little Savvy it is not you that I am bitching at, it’s your bloody makers!!

Two words : PROTON SUCKS!!

I try to be patriotic, I am after all driving a national car, but FOR GOD’S SAKE STOP TELLING ME “TAKDE SPARE PART”!!!
My car has been jerking whenever I drive at slow speeds, I have to try and start the car about 10 times before I actually get the engine running, the radio would tune itself in and out every once in a while, and people wonder why I’m so easily agitated behind the wheels. Gimme a break.

Raya is in two weeks time. When I was younger, I completely look forward to raya. Nowadays, I simply dread it. The upside of fasting is that I don’t have to spend money on food, so I get to save and give it all away the following month. Yay.

Forgive me if I sound bitter. This is my blog, and it’s my right to vent. I love the internet.

(To my car : you can stop reading now.)

I think I want to sell my car next year, and use whatever that I can get out of it to buy myself a bicycle. A good sturdy and stylish bicycle. Yes, that’s what I’ll do. I will buy myself a bicycle and cycle to work. It’s healthy, environmental friendly and it will save me on toll and petrol. YAYYY! Excellent plan. Big pat on the back to me.

Oh, and we musn’t forget a good helmet too. Must adhere to rules and regulations, and also steps to safety.

So that will be my new year’s resolution. Get rid of the car and cycle to work. Whether or not this will become a reality, is a whole different story. We can ignore that for the time being. Also, get rid of my credit card. That is one of the most evil plastic creation that was ever invented by mankind. We shall not talk about it during this holy month of Ramadan.
