If you think that you’d have to travel all the way to Thailand to look at drag queens live and kickin’, think again!!

Taadaaa!

Not bad, huh? Hhahahaha…ok all except the end purple “shim”. Gives me the heebeejeebies that one.

Anyway, I just happened to stumble upon this picture of Azwan Hj Ali with his drag queen pals. Don’t even know whether they’re REAL drag queens. If we refer to the title of the picture, they probably are playing dress-up for an office annual party (man, people sure go all out for these things, don’t they? LOL).

Either way, it is rather amusing so I thought I’d share it with all of you.

Speaking of drag queens, we sure have a lot of nicknames for them in Malaysia don’t we? We have the commonly used bapok, mak nyah and pondan, then we also have the cuter nicknames like teapot..heheh…ape lagi ek? But, like the saying goes, sticks and stones may break their bones but names will never hurt them πŸ™‚

You know, some people might go around cussing about drags n trans n whatever else, but I’d like to say that the softees (as I fondly call them) that I know are among the nicest people in the world. Apart from their slightly laser sarcasm (they sure like to speak their mind), they’re extremely honest and sweet. Shame on the people who prefer to stereotype people around them.

You know, constant criticizing and pointing fingers on others will not make you any more famous (or likable). Nor will it gain you any respect. True that you might simply be expressing your thoughts, but hey, other people manage to express their thoughts too and yet still maintain within the boundaries of not being downright rude.

Then there’s the whole “I’m-holier-than-thou” attitude. What’s up with that? I’ve never been big fans of people who go around carrying this attitude. If they think that they’re helping their religion with this upfront, they’re dead wrong. Orang lagi menyampah ade la. Sheesh. Cakap je lebih, buatnye takde. Besides, don’t they know how to practise wasadtiah (moderation)? Pastu tak habis-habis dok ngata orang lain dok buat dosa, cam diorag tuh baik sangat la kan? Menatang dulang paku serpih betul. Micheal Jackson once said, that if you want to make a change, you should start with the man in the mirror.

Anyway, whenever people preach about religion, I fall asleep. I just can’t stand preachers. In my point of view, there are other ways to reach out to the hearts of others on matters of religion and there’s one particular person whom I believe has managed that. This guy, his name is Ali, and he has been doing up videos talking about Islam and he’s so ridiculously funny that I can’t help it to watch ALL of his videos. The best part is, he’s entertaining AND he gets the message across. I’d be laughing my head off everytime I watch his videos. I don’t think he does these videos alone lah.

Here’s my favourite video done by him (or them). You should watch it!!!

This one had me laughing so hard till I cried! His collection of films is called Ummah Films and I reccommend highly to everyone to just go and check it out, regardless whether you’re Muslim or not. It’s so funny I tell you!! You won’t regret it πŸ˜‰
